Description

As a Software Engineer you will participate in the development and maintenance of Commerce and CMR solutions.

Areas of responsibility include:

• Contributing to the engineering team
•  Working independently to provide software solutions
•  Designing and building comprehensive and robust software architectures that can accommodate the Business partners’ needs
• Implementing new systems, features and enhancements
• Maintaining existing products and services
• Working closely with Project Managers, the Quality Assurance Team and with Business Partners to deliver solid software solutions
• Working closely with Systems Engineering to ensure successful deployments of software solutions
• Mentoring junior team members on process and engineering best practices

Qualifications

• Strong Internet technologies background including HTTP, SSL, XML, TCP/IP, Web Services etc. 
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time across multiple projects
•  Strong written and verbal skills
•  Disciplined approach to maintaining and adhering to engineering standards and best practices
• Ability to work closely with project stakeholders and effectively elicit requirements
• Ability to translate requirements into robust and cost-effective technical solutions
• Ability to deliver on time according to requirements and business needs
• Attention to detail
• Ability to identify problems and opportunities and champion solutions
• Ability to complete tasks on time and within budget in a climate of frequent change

Experience Required

• 5+ years of full-time/hands-on Java development experience with a proven ability to develop robust commercial applications
• 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience.
• 5+ years of Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and Development experience.
• Experience with commercial code and release management tools (e.g. Perforce, Clearcase, CVS)
•  Experience in web site development
•  Experience with Application Servers is required. Experience with the JBoss Application Server is strongly desired.
• Hands on software modeling experience (e.g. UML) and application of standard methodologies (e.g. RUP).
• J2EE experience (including Entity and Session EJBs, MDBs, JMS, JDBC etc) is strongly desired.
• Windows and Linux / Unix experience is required. UNIX / Linux shell scripting experience is desired.
• Experience with Relational Databases and SQL is required. Experience with Oracle is strongly desired.
  
  

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
